The challenge challenged me in ways I did not expect. For one, I started weight lifting. Our team trainer (the 3 teams that worked out at Aspen) pushed weight lifting big-time. The vast majority of points are calculated based on loss of body fat percentage. Before the challenge, I hated lifting weights. Now, it's not so bad.
I've lost a good deal of weight before. I challenged my mom to a 90-day0fitness challenge in 2008. I lost nearly 25 pounds, but that weight loss didn't stick. Now, for the first time, I feel like I am making the right changes, and I am doing it for the right reasons.
The other challenge, which I loved, was the blogging. Juice asked us to blog about our experiences in the fitness challenge, which was great fun. Blogging keeps us accountable to our goals, and forces us to think in creative ways. The Juice Fitness Challenge is over March 15th, and this blog will pick up where my challenge blogging leaves off. Win or lose, I am a different person than the one I was 9 weeks ago, and I am eager to continue this journey.
